The Role in a Nutshell
As the ‘Associate Security Engineer’ collaborates with the service, engineering, and technical support resources for providing technical expertise and assistance on proposed engagements that accurately address customer needs. The candidate requires a sound understanding of Microsoft and Enterprise products and services and other related technologies, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- You own, investigate, and solve customer technical issues, collaborating within and across teams and leveraging troubleshooting tools and practices.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting all installed systems and infrastructure; installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools.
- Work with team to meet or exceed SLA commitments
- Collaborate and coordinate closely with senior technical and field services personnel, and customer IT technical staff when needed.
- Compiling documentation, reports and delivering presentations to staff members and other stakeholders.
- Develop specific technical and professional proficiency to enable you to understand and resolve customer issues, through training, certifications and readiness.
- Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of Microsoft-based security systems, including Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, Azure Security Center, and Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Data Security.
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and incidents across Microsoft cloud environments, on-premises, and hybrid solutions.
- Participate in the implementation of security measures to protect information systems using Microsoft security frameworks and tools.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology (IT), or related field.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft security tools and technologies such as Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Entra, and Microsoft Intune.
- Understanding and basic knowledge on vulnerability assessment tools, automation, PowerShell and Kusto (KQL).
- Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network protocols. Adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to do the right thing under pressure and tight deadlines and shift basis.
