The role in a nutshell: 

Lead – Project Management is responsible for providing strategic leadership and governance across TechOne’s project portfolio by guiding Project Managers, ensuring ISO-compliant delivery, managing risks and finances, and driving successful, high-quality project outcomes aligned with business objectives and customer expectations. 

Duties and responsibilities:  

1. Project & Portfolio Planning  

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define project and program scope aligned with business strategy and organizational priorities. 
  • Oversee the creation and approval of detailed project and program plans prepared by Project Managers. 
  • Review and validate resource forecasts (time, cost, tools, capacity) across the project portfolio. 
  • Ensure effective prioritization, sequencing, and dependency management across multiple projects. 
  • Review and approve master schedules and milestones; resolve cross-project conflicts and constraints. 
  • Define portfolio-level objectives, KPIs, and success metrics; ensure alignment with organizational goals.  

2. People & Capability Leadership  

  • Lead, mentor, and coach Project Managers and Project Leads to improve delivery maturity and leadership capability. 
  • Support recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of Project Managers in consultation with senior management and HR. 
  • Allocate project managers and shared resources across projects based on skill, capacity, and priority. 
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, feedback sessions, and development planning for PM team members. 
  • Identify skill gaps and drive training, certification, and continuous improvement initiatives within the PM function. 
  • Approve and oversee engagement of external consultants or vendors when required. 

3. Project Governance, Execution & Control 

  • Provide oversight to ensure projects are executed in accordance with approved plans, methodologies, and governance frameworks. 
  • Establish and enforce standardized project management processes, templates, and best practices. 
  • Ensure all project documentation complies with organizational policies and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 27001). 
  • Monitor overall portfolio health and proactively intervene in at-risk projects. 
  • Review project status reports, dashboards, and metrics on a regular cadence. 
  • Ensure effective stakeholder communication and adherence to approved Project Communication Plans. 
  • Conduct regular quality reviews and gate reviews to ensure deliverables meet defined standards. 

4. Risk, Issue & Escalation Management 

  • Own portfolio-level risk management, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated proactively. 
  • Support Project Managers in resolving complex issues and removing delivery blockers. 
  • Lead escalations to Head of PMO, Steering Committees, or Senior Management when critical thresholds are breached. 
  • Drive root-cause analysis for recurring project issues and implement preventive actions. 

5. Financial & Commercial Oversight 

  • Review and approve project budgets and cost baselines across the portfolio. 
  • Monitor financial performance, cash flow forecasts, and variances; report consolidated insights to senior management. 
  • Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and controls. 
  • Validate that financial records across projects are accurate, current, and auditable. 
  • Support commercial decision-making related to scope changes, cost optimization, and investment trade-offs. 

6. Delivery Assurance & Customer Success 

  • Ensure all projects meet agreed timelines, budgets, scope, and quality expectations. 
  • Oversee outcome evaluations and benefits realization at project and program closure. 
  • Act as an escalation point for key customers and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction is consistently achieved. 
  • Drive continuous improvement based on customer feedback, retrospectives, and lessons learned. 

7. Process Improvement & Organizational Contribution 

  • Continuously improve project delivery maturity, tools, and reporting mechanisms. 
  • Contribute to PMO strategy, audits, and compliance initiatives. 
  • Support organizational change initiatives and strategic programs as a trusted delivery partner. 

Qualifications 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Management or Similar 
  • MBA / MSc in Project Management or Engineering Management – advantage. 

Certifications 

  • PMP and/or PRINCE2 Practitioner – preferred. 
  • Agile certification (CSM / SAFe / AgilePM) – advantage. 
  • Exposure to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 standards. 
  • ITIL  

Experience 

  • 6+ years in project management with 2+ years in a Lead / Senior PM / PMO role. 
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects, PM teams, and senior stakeholders. 
  • Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and escalations. 

Tools & Methods 

  • Hands-on experience with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models. 
  • Proficient with Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Confluence, or similar tools. 
  • Experience working in a PMO-driven, ISO-compliant environment. 

Leadership & Communication 

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills. 
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and executive reporting capability. 
  • High ownership, accountability, and quality-driven mindset.
